Founder and Director – Ashan Winslow

A few years ago, Sydney fashion designer, Ashan Winslow, had a vision. It was a vision about what the industry in Australia could become, about how it could actively support young talent and proudly showcase Australia’s eclectic and directional design to the world, while supporting an ethical workforce and socially just environment for all designs and workers in the supply chain.

Understanding that other designers faced the same issues he did, the various ideas and components that make up the Australian Fashion Exchange today began to fall into place.

Ashan has several years experience as a buyer, most notably in the entertainment and music industry, which culminated in a coveted national buyer position with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Surrounded by a professional and equally passionate and committed team, Ashan is entirely thrilled to be an important part of an exciting new chapter for the fashion industry here in Australia. He is passionate about assisting AFX members start and continue a professional and personal journey of success both in Australia and overseas, and making his vision for the industry a reality.
