Lismore’s Mia Brennan has created a clothing collection with the unmistakable stamp of the sun kissed ‘northern woman’. Mimi Designs represents the unique “essence” of the colourful beach town Byron Bay when allowed to be admired against a grey haze of a metropolitan setting.

“Everyone from up north just have this ‘essence’ around them that I only realise when I am somewhere like Sydney.”

Mia’s own distinctive style and taste prompted her to create her own pieces for her own wardrobe using vintage and recycled materials. The flow of admiration from her hand crafted clothing inspired Mia to channel her artistic past time into an inspiring career opportunity.

Mia won the prestigious Byron Bay Fashion Voyeur award in 2009 and is currently stocked in boutiques in Lismore, Byron Bay and Sydney.

Mia’s fashion vision stems from her comprehensive knowledge of visual arts and her passion for sculpture and installation art forms. Mia’s own world of visual arts has aroused a collection stemming from three-dimensional foundations and contains original off beat patterns created using an unconventional state of mind.

Mimi Designs is proudly an Australian and hand crafted collection, containing refreshing pieces which are earthly elegant. Her Empire line dresses and signature jump suits expose the creative hub of Byron Bay, and its own fashion vibrations.
